Moisture Analyzer "MT-SCAN"

for particles, fibres, chips, gypsum and other bulk materials

Non-contact metering of particle and fibre moisture.
"MT-SCAN" measures the moisture content with multi-wavelength infrared light, which is targeted to, and reflected by, the material surface; the reflected beam is measured and analysed. In other words, a certain wavelength of infrared light is absorbed by water molecules, thus more or less weakened. The weakened signal is compared to the 100 %-signal. The resulting values indicate the moisture content.

Measuring can also be effected through glass. The moisture is monitored at different spots within the production process, which exhibits valuable information for the optimisation of the process.

MT-SCAN: Non-contact by infrared.

Savings by accurate moisture control

Moisture measurement is on of the most-important parameters for efficient panel board production.

A moisture content in raw material that is too high results in a slowdown in production speed and in an increased risk for causing blows.

If raw material becomes too dry during the process an excess of energy will be consumed. Also the risks of fire and explosions in the dryer are greatly increased.

EWS offers various methods for moisture measurement which can be selected according to the specific application.
